Health Promotion

It is important that we all work together to promote consistent messages to communities. The more our communities hear those messages, the more likely they are to act in a positive way.

What is the Gamble Host Pack?

The Gamble Host Pack has been developed to help venues and staff more easily meet their gambling host responsibility obligations. The Gamble Host Packs are now available for staff at pubs and clubs to use in their day to day practice with gamblers. You can check out the pack here.

Who is behind it?

The initiative is led by Te Hiringa Hauora. This project has been developed in partnership with the Department of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Health and with the support and input of gaming societies, venues and service providers.

How can you help?

Service providers have an important role to play. Here’s what you could do:

  1. Get to know the materials yourselves to ensure we provide consistent messages. Visit Gambling Host Pack    Re/introduce yourselves to your local venues
  2. Let venues know that you are there to help, i.e. they can refer clients to you.
  3. Check-in with venues to see if the materials are up. If not, please let Te Hiringa Hauora know (we can help support distribution). Contact us at  info@safergambling.org.nz
  4. Localise the new materials – place your stickers on the back of the wallet leaflets.
