Understanding Peer Support as a clinician – Rachel Scaife – 15 CPD points – Half Day
Training Outcomes:
Have a better understanding of peer support and what the role involves and what it doesn’t involve. 
The history of peer support both worldwide and within NZ.
Through a better understanding clinician’s will be able to work alongside peers with an understanding of how the roles can complement each other.
Topics:

  • History of peer support worldwide
  • History of peer support in NZ.
  • Principles of peer support
  • Best way to work alongside per support.

We have 2 workshops available:

Workshop 2: Friday 6 May
Workshop 3: Wednesday 29 June
 
Total cost - $70 dapaanz members, $85 non members
 
This training will be delivered via ZOOM from 9.30am to 12.30pm
 
Becoming a new supervisor – Rachel Scaife – 10 CPD points – 2 Hours             
Training Outcomes:
How to navigate the transition from completing your supervision training to becoming a supervisor.

  • Wellness in the workplace and how to manage your own juggle.
  • Not taking too many things on and keeping boundaries with supervisees.
  • Ensuring that your own self care is managed.

We have 2 workshops available:

Workshop 3: Thursday 30 June
 
Total cost - $50 dapaanz members, $60 non members
 
This training will be delivered via ZOOM from 9.30am to 11.30am.
 
 
FOLLOWON - Pūrakau and Motivational Interviewing – Tipene Pickett – 30 CPD Points – 1 Day
 
Please note that this workshop is only avaible if you have completed the 2 day workshop either as advertised above or in 2021 with us.
 
This workshop has a particular focus on challenging conversations and helping Softening Sustain Talk and responding to & 'dancing with discord'. Also additional strategies to elicit Change Talk. Participants will gain some specific and useful feedback to sharpen their proficiency using MI using aspects of The Motivational Interviewing Treatment Integrity tool (MITI) focusing on Partnership, Empathy, Cultivating Change Talk and Softening Sustain Talk.
 
This training will be delivered via ZOOM from 9am to 4pm with a break for lunch.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for justice clients – Bronwen Wood – 30 CPD Points – 1 Day
 
This course will discuss the theory behind ‘what works' with clients involved in the justice system in terms of criminogenic and non-criminogenic needs. We will focus on what criminogenic needs treatment can address with the view of reducing recidivism. We will then look at Cognitive Behavioural Therapy strategies such as problem solving, unhelpful thoughts as well as planning with the overall aim of reducing recidivism. If you have an interest in learning how evidenced based interventions apply with clients involved in the justice system, then this Zoom course may be of interest to you. A prerequisite for this course is an interest in learning how CBT can be applied with clients involved in the justice system.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for depression and anxiety – Bronwen Wood – 30 CPD Points – 1 Day

If you are interested in learning CBT strategies to apply with co-existing presentations, then this Zoom course may be of interest to you. We will focus on strategies to support clients in identifying unhelpful thinking habits and the theory behind how these thoughts develop. We will then look at different strategies to support clients in being flexible with their thoughts and looking at a more balanced perspective. The aim of this is to support clients in learning that they do not have to believe their unhelpful thoughts and have choices to see their world through different lenses. A prerequisite for this course is an interest in learning CBT.
