Enrolments are open for the next Leadership Programme for Maori in Public Health 2022.
There are up to 25 places!
The Public Health Leadership Programme has a strong reputation for contributing to building the leadership capacity and capability.
For participants to be eligible to be considered for the programme, they must be:
- Māori; and working in a Public Health funded contract from either the Ministry of Health or DHB's (For clarity Public Health is referred to those that work in health promotion, health protection, population health as opposed to individuals focus. Public Health is not any contract funded by health)
- committed to positive health outcomes for Māori; and
- committed to attending all four noho Marae; and
- have the support of your employer (if applicable); and
- committed to completing the programme.
If there are several people from one organisation - I would like you to discuss amongst yourself who will be coming. I also want to share the opportunity around the country rather than predominantly one region if possible.
Details for the programme are Leadership Programme for Maori In Public Health

If the country is in lockdown, the programme or aspects of the programme may be provided online.
Participants must be able to attend all of the 4 wānanga.
Start times are 9am on the Thursday and work till late in the evening. Start again at 8am and finish at 3pm on the Friday. We work through the evenings and participants are expected to stay at the marae or find alternative accommodation at your own cost close to the marae.
